Life of Moses

Book of Exodus starts with a grim picture of how the children of Israel were oppressed in Egypt. When they cried out to the Lord, God heard their cries. Moses was the answer for their cries and groans.

Moses is one of the most well-known characters in the Bible. He is a type of Christ. Just like how Moses delivered the children of Israel from Egypt, Jesus delivered us from the bondage to sin.

Moses wrote the first 5 books of the Bible. He had direct contact with God several times. He is the only one who has seen the back side of God with all His glory. He was the meekest on the face of the earth (Numbers 12:3).

Look at what God says about Moses in Numbers 12:6-8:

6 he said, “Listen to my words:

“When there is a prophet among you,
    I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions,
    I speak to them in dreams.
7 But this is not true of my servant Moses;
    he is faithful in all my house.
8 With him I speak face to face,
    clearly and not in riddles;
    he sees the form of the Lord.
Why then were you not afraid
    to speak against my servant Moses?”
